General Laborer

Soluroc is looking to hire for a General Labourer role at our Sudbury facility. This positng is for an active job vacancy and will be open till filled.

Position Summary

The General Labourer supports daily site operations by performing a variety of manual labour tasks in industrial and manufacturing environments. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient job sites while supporting skilled trades, supervisors, and operational teams in Sudbury-based projects.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

• Assist supervisors and skilled trades with daily job site activities
• Perform general labour duties including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
• Prepare work areas and ensure readiness for operational tasks
• Support industrial maintenance, refractory, and shutdown activities as required

Health & Safety

• Follow all Soluroc safety policies, procedures, and site-specific rules
• Properly use required PPE at all times
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Teamwork & Reliability

• Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Adapt to changing work assignments and site conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Potential Field Work to our customer sites
• Previous experience in construction, industrial, or labour-intensive environments an asset
• Fabrication shop experience is considered a strong asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions
• Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow instructions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation an asset
