Automotive Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles using advanced hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic schematics.
• Conduct maintenance on various automotive systems including engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical components, and HVAC units to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Utilize heavy equipment operation skills to work with machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and industrial equipment when necessary for specialized repairs or service tasks.
• Repair and service farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy-duty vehicles by applying mechanical knowledge and welding techniques.
• Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities involving heavy lifting, electrical work, or the use of power tools to maintain a safe working environment.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs and service recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction through excellent service.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a strong foundation in mechanical troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is a plus.
• Skilled in welding, electrical systems, HVAC servicing, and the use of hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during maintenance activities involving farm machinery or industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic software for accurate troubleshooting.
• Valid mechanic experience with a focus on automotive repair; additional certifications in electrical or HVAC systems are advantageous.
