Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) - Agentic AI Automation - Co-op Winter 2027

Students in the Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) - Agentic AI Automation Co-op position with JSI Telecom can expect to engage with a wide variety of TPMO processes and take on a high degree of responsibility with reporting to an upper management level. JSI constitutes a challenging environment in which constantly shifting priorities and a large number of ongoing projects create a strong need for automation to keep pace. This is an excellent opportunity for students to design and build agentic AI-driven automations that reduce manual effort across the TPMO's recurring processes, while gaining exposure to how a Technical Program Management function operates within a large Engineering organization.

Tasks for a co-op student can include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, building, and maintaining agentic AI automations that streamline recurring TPMO processes
• Automating process and work status audits, flagging inconsistencies and gaps across Agile teams' tracked work
• Automating the coordination of staff actions, including the activities required for new hires, departures, team changes, and re-organizations
• Automating the generation and updating of recurring reports and dashboards for stakeholders ranging from individual teams to executives
• Integrating agentic AI tools with existing systems such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Confluence, and PowerBI to reduce manual, repetitive work
• Identifying additional TPMO processes suited to automation and proposing proof-of-concepts
• Documenting automations and training TPMO staff on their use
• Organizing content for non-technical staff prior to large-scale meetings and demonstrations

QUALIFICATIONS

The position of Technical Program Management - Agentic AI Automation Co-op is a demanding one, and thus there are several important qualifications and skills necessary for the job. Technical Skill Set:

• Experience with, or strong interest in, building automations using agentic AI / LLM-based tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot agents, Azure OpenAI or OpenAI APIs, LangChain or similar frameworks)
• Experience with scripting/automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, VBA, or Go
• Experience with, or exposure to, low-code/no-code automation platforms (e.g. Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio) is an asset
• Experience working within an Agile software organization (Scrum or Kanban)
• Exposure to an Issue Management Tracking system (JIRA, Azure DevOps, other) and collaboration tools (Confluence, SharePoint, other)
• Experience with data visualization/BI tools (e.g. Microsoft PowerBI) is an asset

Working under the Senior Technical Program Manager for JSI provides an excellent opportunity to learn about large-scale company management, agentic AI application design, and process automation. This position will provide a level of depth much greater than most co-op positions, including hands-on experience designing and deploying agentic AI automations within a real Technical Program Management Office, as well as exposure to the Agile software development methodologies (including Scaled Agile Framework) which are becoming prevalent in leading software companies. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work closely with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, and Confluence, and learn how agentic AI can be applied to streamline enterprise processes. You can expect to learn a great deal about the following:

• Designing and deploying agentic AI automations for enterprise process automation
• Agile Software Processes (Scrum)
• Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for measuring Engineering initiatives
• Extraction and automation of project tracking data from Microsoft Azure DevOps Server and GitHub Enterprise
• Leveraging Atlassian Confluence and agentic AI tools for report publication and process automation

How We Work

You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
