ABOUT US

Advanced Care Group of Companies (ACG) is a Canadian RN-led, women-owned healthcare staffing and services organization founded in 2011. We deliver person-centred care and support across British Columbia. Our West Kelowna staffed residential home supports an adult with developmental disabilities to live safely, with dignity, and as independently as possible in her own home and community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Staffed Residential Support Worker provides direct, hands-on support to the individual living in the home. This includes daily living, personal care, health, and nutrition, all in line with her Person-Centred Plan, Behaviour Support Plan, and health and dietary protocols.

This role is for an experienced, dependable care professional who works independently, communicates clearly, and holds herself to a high standard of care, documentation, and professionalism.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT – A CORE EXPECTATION

Please note that active client engagement is an essential part of this role, not an optional extra. Staff are expected to interact with the individual throughout every shift: conversation, shared activities, encouragement, and participation in her daily routines, interests, and goals. Being present in the home is not enough. Staff must stay attentive, involved, and focused on the individual at all times. Personal phone use, passive supervision, or disengagement during shifts does not meet the expectations of this position.

- Provide respectful, dignified assistance with personal care, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and continence care

- Support routines for sleep, hygiene, and daily living according to the care plan

- Prepare meals that reflect the individual's established cultural and personal food preferences, including Western-style home cooking (e.g., roasted meats and vegetables, casseroles, soups, baked dishes, sandwiches, and breakfast foods)

- Follow safe food handling, storage, labelling, and kitchen sanitation practices consistent with FoodSafe standards

- Record food and fluid intake as required

Health and Medication Support

- Administer or assist with medications according to the home's medication policy and the Medication Administration Record (MAR)

- Monitor health, report changes promptly, and follow health care protocols

- Attend and support medical, dental, and specialist appointments, including safe transportation using your personal vehicle

Behaviour Support and Safety

Community Inclusion (optional – as needed)

The role may, at times, include supporting community outings, activities, recreation, and social connections based on the individual's interests and goals. Candidates who are able and willing to support it are strongly preferred.
