Overhead Crane Service Technician (Licenced Electrician) - Onsite

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Overhead Crane Service Technician to join our Service Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.

This position is based onsite at Goodrich Landing Gear Division in Oakville, Ontario.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Overhead Crane Service Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and malfunctions to determine appropriate repair solutions
• Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective components to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Performing crane and hoist installations, repairs, and responding to equipment breakdowns as required
• Inspecting and servicing overhead cranes, hoists, chain falls, pullers, and related lifting equipment
• Completing maintenance reports, inspection records, and service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Identifying required replacement parts, ordering materials, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
• Following all company and customer health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
• Maintaining a professional image while building positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and other stakeholders
• Working collaboratively with the Service Team to meet customer needs and operational objectives
• Performing other duties as assigned

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when completing service reports and maintaining documentation
• Welding experience is considered an asset
• Valid driver's licence in good standing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work overtime as required to meet operational and customer needs
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent, at a minimum
  
• Completion of college, CEGEP, vocational, or technical training in a relevant field
• Valid Ontario Electrical Licence (309A or 442A) required
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial equipment servicing, or a related technical field
• Previous experience working with overhead cranes, hoists, or material handling equipment is considered an asset
