Mill Helper – Millwright / Mechanical Background | $28.15/hr Location: Woodstock, ON
Pay: $28.15/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Shift: Afternoon Shift- Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–1:30 AM
About the Role We are hiring a Mill Helper to join our heavy industrial quarry plant in Woodstock. This is a hands-on mechanical role working alongside Millwrights on industrial equipment. We are looking for candidates with a Millwright, Millwright Apprentice, Industrial Mechanic, or similar mechanical trades background. You will assist with the maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of conveyors, gearboxes, crushers, screens, pumps, bearings, and other industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Millwrights with mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Assist with installation, fitting, alignment, and mechanical assembly
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and assist with repairs
• Work on conveyors, gearboxes, crushers, screens, pumps, bearings, and belts
• Use hand and power tools
• Assist with welding and fabrication
• Perform equipment inspections and report issues
• Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures

Requirements

• Millwright, Millwright Apprentice, or Industrial Mechanic background strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and mechanical repairs
• Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, crushers, screens, bearings, or similar equipment
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, or schematics is an asset
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience
• 3–5 years of relevant mechanical experience preferred
• Welding/fabrication experience is an asset
• Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
• Must pass respirator fit testing and be clean-shaven where the respirator seals
• English required

Ideal backgrounds: Millwright, Millwright Apprentice, Industrial Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, Millwright Helper, or a mechanical tradesperson with strong industrial maintenance experience.
