About the Opportunity We are an established and successful private business in the Niagara region seeking a detail oriented, reliable Senior Accounting and Administrative Clerk to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent long-term career home with strong stability. You will work closely with our long-tenured Accounting Manager and receive daily operational oversight, mentorship, and strategic backing from our VP of Finance. As our current Accounting Manager approaches a planned retirement over the next year, our intention is for the successful candidate to demonstrate the capability to eventually assume the Accounting Manager role. Core Role Responsibilities * Full-Cycle Support: Handle daily transactional accounting, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), invoicing, and collections. * Reconciliations: Execute monthly bank and various account reconciliations, verifying balances against our general ledger. * Payroll & Remittances: Prepare standard payroll cycles and handle routine government source remittances (HST, WSIB, EHT). * System Migration Support: Assist the department and the company during our data migration from Dynamics SL to Sage 300. * Financial Statement Prep: Assist in preparing the monthly financial statements and supporting documents. * Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to both internal and external customers at all times. * Administrative Support: Proactively manage workflow and tasks associated with the day to day needs What You Bring: * Experience: 8+ years of hands on, full-cycle bookkeeping or senior accounting clerical experience, preferably within a private business environment. * Software Adaptability: Direct experience with Sage 300 or Microsoft Dynamics SL is a tremendous asset. * Technical Skills: Solid proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel (data sorting, formulas, spreadsheets). * Credentials: A college diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred. No CPA designation required.
