We are providing an opportunity to a qualified cook with experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. We are offering a full-time position that includes room and board (allowing you to save money by eliminating rent, long commutes, and grocery expenses!). Our restaurant is located within our hotel, so the role will also involve assisting guests with check-ins and attending to their needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare all served food
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
• Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
• Making sure stock/inventory is well organized, to prevent spoilage and over ordering
• Analyze stock and prepare food orders
• Follow set menu and special diet orders
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
• Run transactions through the POS system
• Handle hotel guest check-ins and check-outs
• Answer phone calls and check messages
• Assisting guests to ensure a comfortable stay

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cooking in the restaurant industry, culinary arts, or other related fields
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
• Strong attention to detail and having great organizational skills
• Having the ability to understand and use various kinds of technology (tech-savy)
• Ability to multitask, handle situations of intense and fast paced work conditions
• Having a collaborative and "team" mindset, ensuring synergy with other staff
• Positive attitude, solution oriented
• Good communications skills, providing great care and service towards customers
• Having a registered apprenticeship certificate or diploma in culinary field
• Food safe certification
• Good sales skills
