Maintenance Mechanic

Salary: $47/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Description
Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join their mechanical team in Richmond, BC. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in working safely, efficiently, and independently while also being a strong team player.
You'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and overhauling a wide range of industrial equipment and mechanical systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Install, align, maintain, repair, and overhaul industrial machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and take corrective action at various sites.
Maintain and service large pumps, diesel and gas engines, compressors, blowers, conveyors, turbines, valves, cranes, heat exchangers, and related equipment.
Install, maintain, and service valves, meters, piping systems, and conveyor systems.
Perform machine fitting, pipefitting, minor maintenance welding, and layout work.
Use a variety of hand, power, and shop tools, including lathes, grinders, torque wrenches, and gas cutting equipment.
Maintain accurate records of completed work and equipment maintenance.
Use computerized maintenance systems (CMMS) and predictive maintenance technologies.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior Mechanics and Operators.
Maintain parts and materials inventories as required.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable WCB regulations.
Participate in developing and maintaining Safe Work Procedures.
May act on behalf of the supervisor when required.
What You Must Have
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Trades Qualification Certificate as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright.
Minimum 4 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Experience with large pumps, diesel engines, dual-fuel engines, and mechanical installations.
Skilled in machine fitting, welding, pipefitting, and reading blueprints.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and precision measuring tools.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work with CMMS and predictive maintenance systems.
Reliable set of personal hand tools.
Physically capable of performing the duties of the role.
Ability to work shifts as required.
Valid B.C. driver's license.
