Summit Search Group has partnered with a well-established Winnipeg organization on the recruitment of an experienced Payroll & Benefits Administrator.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of the payroll and benefits function while contributing to broader employee and HR administration. Working closely with management, the Payroll & Benefits Administrator will serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders while ensuring payroll, benefits and employee information are managed accurately, efficiently and confidentially.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a role where accuracy, discretion and sound judgment are essential. Current or recent hands-on Payworks experience is required.

The Opportunity

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits, while also supporting a variety of day-to-day employee and HR activities.

This role offers the opportunity to have meaningful ownership of payroll processes while working closely with managers and employees across the organization. Beyond payroll, you will contribute to recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, workplace programs and other people-related initiatives.

For someone who enjoys both the technical side of payroll and the people side of an organization, this position offers an excellent combination of responsibility, variety and autonomy.

  • Maintain confidential employee files, records and documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for employee programs, workplace initiatives and other HR activities.
  • Work collaboratively with management to ensure employee information and processes are handled consistently and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
