Working closely with senior leadership, department leaders, managers, and the HR team, the HRBP serves as a trusted advisor across a broad range of human resources matters. This role combines strategic HR partnership with hands-on involvement in talent acquisition, employee and labour relations, performance management, workforce planning, employee development, engagement, and organizational initiatives.

The HRBP will also play an important role in strengthening Access Communications' culture, supporting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace, and building relationships within the organization and across the communities it serves.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with senior leadership and management to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and business priorities.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and coaching across talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, workforce planning, employee relations, and other HR matters.
  • Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives that support equity, diversity, inclusion, and a positive organizational culture.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted HR resource to leaders, managers, and employees.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies aligned with current and future workforce needs.
  • Partner with leaders and hiring managers to identify staffing requirements and lead recruitment processes.
  • Support the development of job descriptions, job evaluation, selection, and onboarding requirements.
  • Identify creative sourcing strategies and emerging recruitment channels to attract prospective candidates.
  • Build relationships with post-secondary institutions, community organizations, outreach agencies, and other external partners to develop a diverse talent pipeline.

Talent Development & Performance

  • Identify organizational training and development needs and recommend appropriate programs and initiatives.
  • Support employee development, career growth, succession planning, and the identification of high-potential employees.
  • Oversee and support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, evaluations, and performance improvement planning.
  • Develop and deliver training and presentations as required.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Develop and support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, job satisfaction, recognition, and workplace culture.
  • Provide guidance and support in addressing employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Support recognition and rewards programs.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews, identify themes and trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Act as a role model for Access Communications' values, professionalism, commitment to safety, and positive workplace culture.

Employee & Labour Relations

  • Provide guidance on employee and labour relations matters, including the interpretation and application of the collective agreement, employment standards, corporate policies, and applicable legislation.
  • Support the resolution of complex workplace matters, including performance, discipline, harassment, discrimination, and other employee relations concerns.
  • Research and remain current on labour and employment law, HR best practices, legislative requirements, and employment and pay equity.
  • Provide accurate and practical HR advice while appropriately managing confidential and sensitive information.

Employer Brand & Community Partnerships

  • Serve as an ambassador for Access Communications and promote the organization as an employer of choice throughout Saskatchewan.
  • Represent the organization at career fairs, informational interviews, work experience opportunities, and other recruitment and community initiatives.
  • Build relationships with educational institutions, outreach agencies, employment seekers, professional associations, and other community partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Access Communications' reach with diverse talent communities and promote employment opportunities across the province.

HR Operations & Continuous Improvement
