The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to lead a well-established culinary operation known for delivering exceptional dining experiences, member events, and hospitality programming. This role offers the opportunity to influence culinary strategy, elevate the guest experience, and lead a talented team within a highly service-focused environment.
The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the culinary operation, balancing creativity with operational discipline. This individual will be responsible for shaping menus, developing talent, maintaining food quality standards, and ensuring the overall financial success of the back-of-house operation.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Culinary Excellence
  • Provide leadership and direction for all culinary programming and food production activities.
  • Create innovative menus that align with guest preferences, seasonal availability, and operational objectives.
  • Establish and maintain consistent standards for preparation, presentation, portioning, and product quality.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance dining experiences while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Champion culinary creativity while respecting budget and business goals.
Operational Management
  • Direct all day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure consistency, organization, and efficient execution.
  • Oversee procurement, inventory management, receiving practices, and product control procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety throughout all kitchen areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health standards, and workplace policies.
  • Monitor equipment and facilities to support smooth and uninterrupted operations.
Financial Accountability
  • Manage food cost and labour performance against established targets.
  • Analyze purchasing, inventory levels, waste management practices, and portion controls.
  • Support pricing strategies and menu profitability through cost analysis and operational planning.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to achieve financial objectives and maximize performance.
Team Development
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team.
  • Create clear performance expectations and foster accountability throughout the department.
  • Build schedules that support operational requirements while maintaining labour efficiencies.
  • Conduct performance discussions and support employee growth and career development.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture built on professionalism, respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Partnership & Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with operational leaders to deliver seamless hospitality experiences.
  • Support special events, tournaments, banquets, and member functions through effective planning and execution.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and respond effectively to evolving guest expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement practical solutions.
  • Serve as a visible leader who contributes positively to the overall culture of the organization.
Ideal Background
The successful candidate will bring a combination of culinary expertise, operational leadership, and business acumen.
We are interested in professionals who possess:
  • 7 plus years of progressive culinary leadership experience, ideally gained within private clubs, premium hospitality environments, resorts, hotels, or upscale restaurants.
  • Experience leading large culinary teams and developing future leaders.
  • Strong understanding of menu development, food costing, inventory controls, purchasing, and kitchen operations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, labour performance, and profitability objectives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style combined with a hands-on approach.
  • A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to support evening, weekend, and special event operations as required.
