A well-established company in the distribution industry is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Accounting & Bookkeeping Coordinator to join its team in Toronto, ON.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with 2–3 years of experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, investigating discrepancies, and supporting both accounting and business operations.

Pay Rate: $24.00/hour

Position: Junior Accounting & Bookkeeping Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Review operational/delivery documentation and ensure quantities, pricing, customer information, and approvals are accurate.
  • Prepare customer invoices and follow up on missing or incorrect billing information.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable, including payment applications, aging, credits, and billing inquiries.
  • Process and code Accounts Payable invoices and credits.
  • Match supplier invoices against purchase orders, receiving documentation, pricing, taxes, and approvals.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate missing invoices, duplicate charges, credits, and pricing discrepancies.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with audit requests, year-end activities, tax/regulatory documentation, and other accounting requirements.
  • Enter and maintain accurate accounting information using Sage 300 or similar ERP software.
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets, reconciliation schedules, reports, emails, letters, and other business documents.
  • Communicate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and other contacts to resolve accounting or documentation issues.
  • Provide additional accounting and administrative support as required.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting support, AP, or AR experience.
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping, invoice processing, reconciliations, and accounting documentation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, lookups, and reconciliation schedules.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and professional written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Gmail and Google Drive.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Gemini or comparable platforms.
  • Accounting or business education is preferred; relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Sage 300 or similar ERP experience is an asset.
  • Experience in distribution, transportation, fuel, inventory, or another high-volume operational environment is considered an asset.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, accurate, and comfortable investigating discrepancies rather than simply processing transactions. The successful candidate should be able to work independently while communicating effectively with the accounting and operations teams.

They should also be comfortable following issues through to resolution and maintaining clear documentation of important transactions and communications.
