The Opportunity:
Scope of the position
The Warehouse Leader is responsible for leading the warehouse team in their warehouse tasks and responsibilities. This includes providing guidance on shipping, receiving, picking, putting away, safety and general housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, and orderly work environment. Under the guidance of the Branch Manager and the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Leader will be responsible to advise and resolve issues as they may arise.
This role will also be responsible for implementing best practices and contributing to the development of processes and procedures. The incumbent will continue to be active on the floor where needed and lead in Warehouse Supervisors' absence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, oversee and participate in the warehouse operations and activities:shipping/receiving, storing, picking, inventory locations move; ensure stock and warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition to Refrigerative Supply standards.
- Coordinate, organize, assign and support tasks, policies and procedures to warehouse staff that are put in place by the branch manager and Refrigerative Supply.
- Plan, organize and oversee daily schedule tasks and assign them appropriately.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment (forklift, etc.).
- Encourage team productivity while leading an example to achieve the branch's performance goals.
- Accountable for the team's ability to meet productivity goals in a timely manner.
- Assist in training new hire warehouse person.
- Maintain working relationships and foster good communication and team morale with the warehouse staff: reporting any employee concerns, and safety issues to the Branch manager.
- Make recommendations to the Branch manager for process improvements and cost savings.
- Actively participates in all regulatory training and other company training initiatives.
- Participates in annual inventory.
- Develop and Maintain a cycle count process for Branch 8 along with other team members.
- Monitor incoming customer returns and ensure written up and delivered to branch admin in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the collection and shipping of empty refrigerant cylinders back to appropriate supplier in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the collection and shipping of reclaim gas back to appropriate supplier in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the collection and shipping of compressor cores back to appropriate supplier in a timely manner.
- Monitor *D section and stock locations for extra *D and work with sales to move to customers.
- Create biweekly orders for welding gas with supplier Innovair. Maintain and monitor inventory levels.
- Monitor Equipment Returns coming back from customers and work with tech support to make sure all requirements are met for a proper claim and ultimately RSL refund so that units can be scrapped.
- Monitor warranty shelf working with h/o and branch admin to move warranty product to proper resolution, either through scrap or return to supplier.
- Provide backup to the warehouse supervisor in times of absence.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Branch manager.
Competencies and Qualifications
- 3-5 years' warehouse/material handling experience preferred in a wholesale/distribution environment.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving and organizational skills.

- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.

- This position utilizes both manual and power material handling equipment to perform job functions, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. Employees in this position must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance; the majority of time is spent standing and walking. You must have the ability to climb, bend, squat, reach, grasp and lift.
- Must have flexibility in their work schedule as they may be asked to work an occasional Saturday branch open.
