This role will be based at the Parksville Branch, located at 1023 Herring Gull Way, Parksville, BC, V9P 1R2.

The Projects Manager is responsible for driving project sales and business growth across the Vancouver Island market while building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners. Working closely with local leadership teams, this role supports strategic growth initiatives and ensures successful project execution. What to expect in the role

Sales Growth

  • Identify market opportunities, including bid-tender and design-build projects, while strengthening relationships with key accounts, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Review project and sales performance, identify opportunities for growth, and support business planning activities.
  • Drive project success through effective pricing, quotation management, and supplier collaboration.

Customer & Supplier Relationships

  • Review project specifications and ensure successful project package delivery.
  • Provide resolution support and coordinate with key stakeholders as required.
  • Consult with customers to develop product and pricing solutions that align with project requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, technical support, and training opportunities.
  • Lead the resolution of escalated customer and supplier issues to ensure successful project outcomes.

Project & Quotation Management

  • Lead project quotations and bid package preparation.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Follow up with customers on pending and completed quotations.
  • Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine quotation viability and project strategy.
  • Oversee quote preparation, quotation tracking, CRM updates, project profitability, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor project progress, material release schedules, and project status to maximize opportunities and project success.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Oversee staffing requirements.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Lead with a customer-first mindset, strong presentation skills, and the ability to inspire others.
  • Provide coaching, training, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the Projects Team delivers exceptional service and results.
  • Establish clear expectations, support employee development, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Work closely with Account Managers, specialty groups, branch leadership, and other internal stakeholders to support project success and customer satisfaction.

Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Establish and maintain quality processes for project quotations and coordination activities.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, implement corrective actions, and support the resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently while maintaining high standards of service, accuracy, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or degree in an electrical or business discipline, or Red Seal Electrician certification.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, including responsibility for project execution and business development activities.
  • 5+ years of quotation management experience.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably within the electrical industry.
  • 3+ years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Experience working with local vendors, manufacturers, or industry partners is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management, negotiations, and closing opportunities.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the local market and maintain a valid driver's license.
