What You'll Do:
Procurement
- Prepare and approve Purchase Orders, as required to meet production requirements
- Analyze demand, usage, forecasts, lead times, and category min/max levels to make effective purchasing decisions
- Liaise closely with the production team to ensure requirements meet lead times and quality standards
- Review vendor invoices and resolve pricing, quantity, freight, and receiving discrepancies
- Be involved with strategic sourcing and negotiation strategies
- Create category strategy reviews of your categories
- Identify areas of cost saving opportunities
- Provide input on future category price trends and implications
- Cross train with buyers on other categories to help with coverage
- Identify and report on potential supply risks and opportunities
- Evaluate challenges in meeting demand
- Work closely with your internal customers/ departments to ensure their needs are met
- Follow the purchasing process from creation to invoice phase
- Generate periodic reports and create presentations of analytical data pertaining to the category
- Assure and maintain data integrity on all inputs
- Misc. purchasing tasks as required
Inventory
- Participate in monthly inventory counting & posting process
- Maintain & adjust inventory levels to ensure sufficient on-hand inventory to fulfill requirements
- Perform inventory cost review analysis
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and support corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy
Relationship Management
- Analyze supplier performance metrics, recommend improvement opportunities
- Assist with vendor scorecards/ KPI reporting
- Work with key suppliers and external parties to develop an understanding of the marketplace pertaining to the category
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation with suppliers
- Coordinate the resolution of supplier shortages, late deliveries, quality concerns, and other material-related issues
What You Bring to DIRTT:
- Exceptional with people, highly detailed in organizational and time management skills
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain or Business
- 3-5 years of Purchasing experience
- Capacity to think logically and analytically to solve problems
- Experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in a fast-paced working environment with tight deadlines
- Possess excellent Microsoft excel skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work with daily/monthly deadlines and time constraints on an ongoing basis
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Experience in ERP/new system implementations is an asset
