Join OpenRoad Auto Group's IT Business Technology team and work on high-impact initiatives spanning Marketing, HR, BDC, Finance & Insurance, Sales, Service, Parts, and Corporate Operations. This fast-paced role offers the opportunity to build modern applications, AI-powered solutions, and automation that transform business processes across the organization. You'll collaborate directly with executives and business leaders, gain exposure to diverse technologies, continuously expand your skills, and play a key role in driving innovation at one of Canada's largest automotive retail groups.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications from frontend to backend.
  • Build applications and integrations within Microsoft/Azure tenant environments.
  • Develop solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Build automated business workflows using Power Automate, including approvals, notifications, data synchronization, and cross-system processes.
  • Develop custom Power Apps for dealership employees, managers, sales teams, parts & service teams, and corporate users.
  • Develop secure APIs and integration with DMS, CRM, inventory, parts & service, accounting, OEM, and other automotive systems.
  • Build AI-powered features using LLMs, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot technologies, RAG, AI agents, and intelligent automation.
  • Integrate AI into dealership workflows to improve sales, inventory management, parts & service, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks.
  • Work with databases and data platforms to consume, transform, and expose business data.
  • Implement role-based access, authentication, authorization, and tenant-aware applications.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure, Security, and business teams to deliver products from concept → MVP →
  • Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance, reliability, and security.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
  • Manage Jira tickets, user stories, and development tasks while maintaining clear technical and solution documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Software development/engineering or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of professional full-stack development and/or software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience building enterprise applications using React and Next.js.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Strong backend development experience with Node.js, .NET/C#, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging AI technologies, AI-powered software development practices, and relevant AI certifications is considered an asset.
  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with third-party integrations.
    • A good understanding of UX/UI design methods
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience working within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 tenant environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft Graph API, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control.
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Understanding of Power Platform environments, connectors, permissions, and solution deployment.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience deploying applications using Azure, GCP, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of application security, data protection, authentication, and authorization.
    • Attention to detail and design requirements
    • Willingness to learn and constantly develop your skills.
    • You will likely attend client meetings and present your work and process, as well as do trainings, so good communication skills are a must.
