Human Resources Coordinator

Community Living Dufferin (CLD) is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This is an opportunity to play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace while helping employees and managers navigate their HR needs.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will support a broad range of HR activities, with a strong focus on Health & Safety, policy implementation, HRIS, recruitment, onboarding, and employee support.
What You'll Do
- Support the implementation and communication of HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Promote a strong culture of workplace safety, wellbeing, inclusion, and respect.
- Track workplace injuries and incidents, support investigations, and coordinate WSIB claims.
- Maintain compliance with OHSA and other applicable legislation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information in the HRIS, including new hires, changes, benefits, leaves, and terminations.
- Audit HRIS and personnel files to ensure information is accurate, complete, and confidential.
- Support recruitment, interviews, reference checks, onboarding, and employee transitions.
- Coordinate and track mandatory training and certifications.
- Support managers and employees with HR questions, policies, documentation, and workplace concerns.
- Prepare HR reports, correspondence, and documentation as required.
What You Bring
- Experience in Human Resources and/or Health & Safety.
- Experience working within a Unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and legislation.
- Experience with HRIS systems and employee records management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing and DEIB.
- The ability to turn policies and procedures into positive, practical workplace practices.
