Position: Overnight Dailies Supervisor
Location: Vancouver, BC (On Site)
Hours of Operation: 10:00pm - 6:00am PST

*Pay Range: $26.00 - $30.00 hourly CAD
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Dailies Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the dailies department's operation and managing the dailies team.
Responsibilities include: labour planning and staffing, scheduling, delegating tasks, stream-lining workflows, training new operators, measuring both individual and the team's morale, detecting inefficiencies in operation, reporting to the Managing Director of all findings, troubleshooting technical difficulties, liaising with other departments, liaising with clients to design and coordinate the dailies workflow on a project by project basis and general oversight of the dailies department.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Overnight Dailies Supervisor will assign operators to new shows. They will maintain quality dailies service by holding the team accountable to Company 3 standards. They will monitor all operations to achieve maximum efficiency in meeting deadlines. They will train operators to understand requests according to their experience. They will analyze complaints, facilitate investigation, and report the outcomes. Other duties include:
- Design workflows, review deadlines, and gather all notes to set priorities per show.
- Oversee each operator's performance and provide training and coaching.
- Report any irregular behaviors of applications and equipment in detail.
- Revise workflows by observing the execution and report all findings to discuss improvements.
- Take part in running new releases of applications before mass deployment.
- Interview potential Dailies Operators and provide feedback.
- Discuss interdepartmental issues within the team.
- Keep track of project needs and properly modify settings when needed.
- Collaborate with other local departments and global dailies and image science teams.
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working in dailies. They will bring proficient knowledge of current dailies operation. They will have the ability to set priorities and apply flexibility in execution to achieve the best outcome. They will have an in-depth understanding of software used in dailies operation. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:
- Ability to troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team and coordinating across other departments.
- Attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Mac and Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of SQL databases.
