Garbage Collector - Saint John

Integrated Staffing is currently recruiting for Garbage Collectors / Waste Collection Labourers with our client in the Saint John, New Brunswick area. This position is ideal for a reliable, hardworking, and physically fit individual who is comfortable working outdoors and is interested in consistent work with an established organization.
IMPORTANT – RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION REQUIRED The worksite is NOT located on a public bus route. Candidates must have their own reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Key Responsibilities

• Collect residential and/or commercial waste and recyclables along assigned routes.
• Load and unload materials into garbage trucks safely and efficiently.
• Assist drivers with navigation and route completion.
• Work safely around garbage trucks, equipment, traffic, and pedestrians.
• Follow company safety procedures and workplace guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Represent the company professionally while working throughout the community.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in waste collection, general labour, or a similar physically demanding role is considered an asset but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, walking, bending, and repetitive movements.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to reliable attendance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work early morning shifts.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• A stable employment history and demonstrated commitment to long-term employment are considered strong assets.

Requirements

• Reliable personal transportation to and from the worksite is required, as the location is not accessible by public transit.
• Steel-toe boots are required.
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be dependable and committed to consistent attendance.
