Accounts Payable Clerk

Aston Carter's large client in Richmond is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team! This individual will be responsible for performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and enter Accounts Payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and ensure shipments are customs cleared to support efficient import operations.
• Verify invoice charges and ensure accurate General Ledger (GL) coding for vendor invoices.
• Perform in-transit reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as required.
• Review and validate vendor commercial invoices against pricing agreements and purchase documentation.
• Request, review, and reconcile vendor Accounts Payable statements.
• Assist with payment processing, including EFTs, cheques, and wire transfers.
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Prepare journal entries and related accounting adjustments as needed.
• Update and maintain foreign exchange rates, including USD exchange rate adjustments.
• Respond to vendor and internal stakeholder inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide ongoing administrative and accounting support to the Accounting Department and assist with special projects as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVES:

• 6+ months of working experience
• Basic understanding of accounting (debits, credits, and accounts payable)
• Accounting education
• Intermediate MS Excel experience (testing required)
• Strong communication skills

NICE TO HAVE

• SAP software experience
• 3 way matching experience
• Freight forwarding experience
• Canada Customs clearance knowledge

This is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, BC.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $55000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a hybrid position in Richmond,BC.
