Description
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated HSE Advisor to support operations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
You'll work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk, support incident investigations, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and making a practical impact on workplace safety.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide HSE guidance and support to branches across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Coach leaders and employees on hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work practices.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and field visits.
Support compliance with provincial health and safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
Support the company's COR program, including audits, corrective actions, and ongoing improvements.
Assist with incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Support WCB claims, injury management, return-to-work, and modified work programs.
Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and other training programs.
Support Joint Health & Safety Committees and employee safety initiatives.
Manage contractor and client compliance requirements through platforms such as Avetta, ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, and ContractorCheck.
Maintain safety policies, procedures, SOPs, safe job practices, safe work procedures, and hazard assessments.
Track and report safety performance, trends, and key metrics.
Identify opportunities to improve HSE programs, processes, and overall safety performance.
What You Must Have
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety; a diploma is preferred.
3–5 years of progressive HSE experience.
Experience supporting multiple locations, branches, or geographic regions.
Experience with workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Experience supporting COR programs and audits.
Strong knowledge of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba OHS legislation.
Experience with contractor compliance or prequalification platforms.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Valid Class 5 driver's licence with an acceptable driver's abstract.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
What Is Nice to Have
CRSP or CRST designation, or working toward certification.
ACSA COR Auditor Certification.
WCB claims and return-to-work experience.
Experience in construction, transportation, traffic control, or related industries.
Experience with Intelex, UKG, SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, or Power BI.
