Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating the movement of freight, managing transportation schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to our clients. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the transportation of freight, including scheduling shipments, booking carriers, and tracking shipments from origin to destination.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and clients to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information, invoices, and documentation.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings or optimization.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in logistics operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and adherence to safety standards.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or transportation management is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, carriers, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management systems (TMS) is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
