Position Summary
The TPM Advisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems and reliability strategies that enhance equipment performance, manufacturing capacity, and operational efficiency across MSSC manufacturing operations.
The role provides technical leadership in preventive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, reliability engineering, and data-driven continuous improvement initiatives. Through the application of engineering principles, maintenance analytics, and cross-functional collaboration, the TPM Advisor supports sustainable improvements in equipment reliability, operational performance, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Principal Accountabilities
1. TPM Strategy & Maintenance System Development
· Develop TPM frameworks and ensure alignment with company objectives.
· Design and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs for production equipment.
· Establish Autonomous Maintenance (AM) guidelines and support implementation throughout manufacturing operations.
· Plan and schedule production maintenance activities to reduce unexpected equipment failures.
· Design major shutdown maintenance activities based on operational requirements and production needs.
2. Reliability Engineering & Equipment Performance Improvement
· Analyze machine failure data and equipment performance trends.
· Conduct RCA, FMEA, FTA, and 5-Why investigations.
· Develop proactive solutions to improve reliability and maintainability.
· Evaluate effectiveness of implemented actions through quantitative performance measurements.
3. Data Analytics & Performance Management
· Analyze operational and maintenance data using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
· Develop data-driven decision-making frameworks, dashboards, and performance monitoring tools.
4. Continuous Improvement & Standardization
· Conduct technical and cost analyses to optimize equipment lifecycle performance.
· Develop SOPs and maintenance standards.
· Implement feedback mechanisms from production teams to improve PM programs.
5. Engineering Support & Technical Development
· Utilize CAD/CAM software to support plant layouts, machine specifications, and custom component designs.

Required Qualifications
· Post-secondary degree in Engineering.
· Minimum three to five years of engineering experience.
· Experience in automotive manufacturing industry.
· Experience with Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
· Experience designing and managing TPM and Autonomous Maintenance programs.
· Experience utilizing ERP systems such as Oracle.
Technical Competencies
· SQL, Power BI, Excel, KPI dashboards, AutoCAD/CAD-CAM proficiency.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and self-management skills.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
· Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related field.
Specialized Industry Experience
· Experience with coil spring hot forming manufacturing processes.
· Experience with Morita industrial equipment and related production systems.
