CONCRETE FINISHER / FORM SETTER

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Concrete Finisher / Form Setter, you will be responsible for:
- Installing and setting concrete forms, granular base, and reinforcing steel.
- Preparing sites and placing concrete according to project specifications and grade requirements.
- Finishing concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Operating concrete vibrators and other equipment to ensure proper compaction.
- Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other embedded components.
- Repairing, resurfacing, and restoring existing concrete structures.
- Applying curing, sealing, waterproofing, and damp-proofing products.
- Performing saw cutting and concrete remediation work.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Conducting quality control checks before, during, and after concrete pours.
- Protecting fresh concrete from changing weather conditions.
- Working safely around underground utilities and active construction sites.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participating in safety meetings and adhering to company safety standards.
- Travelling to various project sites within the Edmonton region.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Minimum 2 years of concrete finishing and form setting experience.
- Experience with curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and flatwork.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing, and curing techniques.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License & clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime and extended hours during peak construction periods.
Assets
- Grouting experience.
- Ground Disturbance certification.
- Standard First Aid certification.
- Experience working around underground utilities.
- Experience estimating materials and project requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a physically demanding position that requires:
- Lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
- Standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Working in dusty and noisy environments.
- Meeting production schedules and project deadlines.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates must possess:
- Valid Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.
- CSTS 2020 certification (required).
- Commitment to following all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
