Key ResponsibilitiesThis description lists the core responsibilities and duties of the position. Additional duties deemed to be within the incumbent's capabilities, on an as required basis, may be assigned by management.Health & SafetyComply with all Cementation health and safety regulations.Ensure designs meet all applicable safety codes and standards.Promote a culture of safety in both behavior and design.Identify and report hazards or infractions promptly.Project DeliveryBuild and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and subcontractors.Maintain strong client relationships through engagement, accountability, and professionalism.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; prepare and execute Project Execution Plans, Communication Plans and other project Plans.Monitor progress using Earned Value tools; implement corrective actions as needed.Manage scope changes through formal change management processes.Oversee document control and project controls within projects.Prepare reports, hold meetings and other general administrative project management requirements.Support construction activities through site visits and timely issue resolution. Leadership & Team ManagementMentor project assistants and foster team collaboration.Allocate resources effectively in coordination with group managers.Maintain team alignment with project objectives and timelines.Engage specialists and subcontractors as required.Regularly oversee the work of team members to accurately monitor progress, ensure coordination between disciplines and work areas and adherence to project scope and requirements.Procurement & PlanningDevelop procurement strategies and facilitate tendering and contract execution.Identify and manage long-lead or critical procurement packages.Ensure Vendor engineering support as needed.Continuous ImprovementSupport the development of scalable Engineering Processes with an eye to continually improving our ability to meet or exceed Client expectations.Capture and lessons learned and contribute to the continued growth of this system.TravelOccasional travel to project sites and offices, including potential overseas assignments.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo direct reportsLeadership and supervision of project teams.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent; CET diploma accepted.Professional Engineer registration in Ontario preferred.PMP or equivalent certification considered an asset.Expert experience in underground mining infrastructure design projects.15-20 years of relevant experience in mining or heavy construction.Skills & CompetenciesTechnical leadership and project management expertise.Expert knowledge of underground infrastructure.Strong communication and client engagement skills.Proficiency in InEight, Primavera P6, MS Office Suite, PowerBI.Collaborative, innovative, and adaptable to change.CandidacyPlease note that to be considered, you must be a Canadian citizen or have written authorization to work in Canada under federal immigration requirements and currently be residing in Canada.Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionAt Cementation Americas, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every employee is treated with dignity and respect.
