Landscapers By Nature Ltd. (LBN) is an established leader in the landscape maintenance and snow removal market in Calgary. We deliver premium landscaping and snow removal services to large apartment and townhome communities.

Position Type & Schedule: Part-time with fluctuations in work, weather dependent. Lots of snow = lots of work. All start times 6:00AM or slightly later, depending on operational needs. This position is on-call, our goal is to arrange work a few days in advance when snow is on the way, however the selected candidates must be available for last minute/unexpected storms.

This position is available from October to May and is seasonal.

*Pay Scale Based on Experience, Skills and Qualifications in the Landscape and Snow Removal industry.

Job Duties:

• Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events
• Prepare and show up for shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medicines that influence safety or productivity
  
• Clear snow and ice accumulations from customer sites in designated areas using front end loaders and/or plow attachments on trucks
• Pile snow in designated and approved locations only
• Equipment prep and equipment maintenance - ensuring you and your machine are as ready as possible for the next work day.
  
• Document and report any obstacles or hazards on site(s)
• Participate in pre-shift inspections, hazard assessments and maintenance as needed
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
• Operating your machinery in a safe and efficient manner, while communicating regularly with your teammates.
• Accurately tracking your time in LMN along with photos, notes and all other required fields
• Working in all weather conditions Mother Nature can throw at us; with a smile!
  

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret maps
• 3+ years experience operating Front End Loaders & Plow Attachments for Snow Removal
• Valid Class 5 Driver License
• Ability/Comfortability roading Loaders (driving on residential roads between sites)
• Physically fit with strong stamina
• Ability to follow safe working procedures
• Good observation skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Strong adherence to our safety policies and protocol
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• A genuine, trustworthy person that will contribute to our work environment in a positive way. Ask yourself: “Have I had quite a few issues working with others in the past? Would I say it was the other parties fault each time?” If yes, please do not apply.

Work Conditions:

• Physically/mentally demanding shifts of 10-12 hours
• Fast paced environment
• Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
• Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Flexible working hours including weekend and holiday work (Holiday work is rare, only in necessary conditions)
