Construction Foreman – Multi-Family

Sherwood Park / Edmonton, AB

We are working with a well-established multi-family developer looking to add an experienced Construction Foreman to their team for a major new development in Sherwood Park.

This is an opportunity to join a stable, experienced construction team with a strong track record of delivering successful projects throughout Alberta. The company puts a significant emphasis on mentorship, internal development, and providing employees with opportunities to progress into more senior site leadership positions.

You will work alongside the Site Superintendent on a 200+ unit, 6-storey wood-frame mixed-use development with a concrete parkade, helping coordinate trades, maintain the construction schedule, oversee quality and safety, and keep day-to-day site operations moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Superintendent with daily site operations, scheduling, sequencing, and coordination.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain productivity and avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor trade performance and proactively resolve site issues that could impact schedule or quality.
  • Review work against drawings, specifications, building codes, and project standards.
  • Complete site inspections, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective work with trades.
  • Maintain high standards of site safety, cleanliness, organization, and quality control.
  • Coordinate material, equipment, and labour requirements to keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Assist with material deliveries, procurement coordination, and minimizing waste and unnecessary costs.
  • Participate in weekly construction meetings and provide updates on progress, quality, scheduling, and potential risks.
  • Work with the Superintendent, Project Manager, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors throughout construction.
  • Support inspections, commissioning, deficiency completion, occupancy, and project turnover.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of construction experience, with experience leading crews and trades on multi-family projects.
  • Strong experience with wood-frame, low- to mid-rise residential construction.
  • Concrete construction and/or parkade experience is a strong asset.
  • Previous experience as a Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, Lead Carpenter, or similar site leadership position.
  • Trade background or certification in carpentry or another construction trade is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, and building practices.
  • Knowledge of Alberta safety requirements and construction regulations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with trades while holding subcontractors accountable for schedule, safety, and quality.
  • First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, and other relevant safety certifications are considered assets.

Compensation & Benefits

The company offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward performance and provide long-term career stability, including:

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance and company profit-based bonus program
  • 3 weeks' vacation
  • RRSP matching
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
  • $1,000 annual Health Spending Account
  • Additional flex days
  • Paid volunteer day
  • Ongoing mentorship, training, and career development
  • Opportunity to progress into more senior site leadership roles

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-family Foreman who wants to work on a substantial project while joining a company that can offer long-term stability, mentorship, and a clear path for career progression.
