Cascadia Metals is currently accepting resumes for a Purchasing and Inventory Specialist position. As the ideal candidate for this role, you enjoy seeking the best possible value in goods and services for our organization, have stellar coordination and time management skills and bring a broad knowledge of the current manufacturing market. You also have strong interpersonal skills and are experienced in or would like to gain experience in higher level procurement strategy and vendor sourcing and negotiation. Responsibilities: Inventory – utilizing strategies to ensure the right product is being ordered, keep supply consistent and avoid duplication of similar products.Purchasing - Meeting with the Regional Manager, Branch Manager and sales teams to discuss upcoming material requirements on a consistent basis.Providing an analysis of inventory quarterly through to the Regional Manager in order to assist in making purchasing decisions. In-charge of Inter-Company Stock Transfer, monitoring /updating shipping schedule, serve as point of contact for all Cascadia Metals Montreal and Mississauga Interco shipping arrangements. Monitoring status of completed/processed materials, requesting shipment updates for rush customer materialsIn-charge of Releasing Mill Purchase Materials from the dock, arranging and approving freight costs ensuring charges are acceptable. Responsible in issuing Supplier Purchase Order for Slitting and other 3rd party materials processing. Reviewing/approving Slit Coil/Sheets Productions Report before sending to Delta for tags and Inventory UtilizationProviding Low Stock Report Weekly – this Report serves as a guideline on what is required - materials supply on a weekly basisTrouble Shooting all inventory issues - tags/packing list, coil locations etc. Requirements: 2 plus year experience with purchasing in warehouse, manufacturing or distribution environmentMicrosoft Excel (create formulas, use pivot tables, etc), Outlook, and WordAnalytical and able to be forward looking in order to prevent future problemsERP / MRP systems Planning and Purchasing experience required Ability to problem solve and deduce likely problem root causes Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, customer service attitude Ability to work in a high paced environment Why Work for Us?
