Blown Film Extruder Operator- Plastic Film Manufacturing Location: Brampton, ON
Pay: $24-$27/hour, based on experience
Shift: Weekend Night Shift 7 pm-7 am -12-hour shifts
Premiums: Nights +$1.00/hr | Weekend Nights +$1.50/hr
Higher pay may be available for candidates with printing experience.
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Blown Film Extruder Operator to join a growing manufacturing team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a skilled operator with experience in blown film extrusion, plastic film manufacturing, machine setup, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, monitor, and adjust blown film extrusion equipment.
• Start up and shut down extrusion lines safely and efficiently.
• Put up and maintain the film bubble throughout production.
• Thread film and adjust machine settings to maintain consistent production.
• Monitor temperatures, pressures, speeds, and other process parameters.
• Perform quality inspections and hourly checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Troubleshoot film defects, seal issues, bag length inconsistencies, and printing misalignment.
• Load and monitor resins, raw materials, additives, inks, and solvents as required.
• Perform product changeovers while maintaining production and quality standards.
• Conduct viscosity checks and complete required production documentation.
• Perform basic equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Identify mechanical issues and work with the Maintenance team to resolve problems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in blown film extrusion, plastics manufacturing, flexible packaging, or a related environment.
• Hands-on experience operating and adjusting extrusion machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with machine setup, changeovers, and process adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Multi-layer blown film extrusion, printing experience, and previous training or mentoring experience.
