Janitor

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility by performing routine and deep-cleaning duties across all work areas. This role handles floor care, waste removal, restroom servicing, and general cleaning of surfaces, fixtures, and equipment. It also prepares cleaning solutions, restocks supplies, and operates power floor-cleaning equipment as needed. Additional duties may be assigned to support overall facility upkeep.

• Sweep and wash floors, deep clean and power scrub all floors.
• Buff and shine floors as needed.
• Gather and empty trash from offices, lunchrooms, restrooms, and common areas, and dispose of garbage.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean inside windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Dust furniture, plants, walls, machines, equipment, counter tops, desks, and telephones.
• Wipe down fingerprints and chair bases as needed.
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare a cleaning solution, according to specifications.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Clean all stair wells.
• Wash walls as needed.
• Cleaning out microwave and fridges.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Operate power floor cleaning equipment

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions both written and orally.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend and crouch.
• Possess strong motivation.
• Possess strong attention to detail.
• Previous janitorial experience considered an asset.
