What You Will Be Responsible For- Ability to install structural steel frames, metal cladding, trims, and insulation.
- Knowledgeable in reading, understanding and interpreting blueprints.
- Assist in planning the sequence of tasks to install structural steel, miscellaneous metals and building envelopes most efficiently.
- Work at elevated heights safely with the use of aerial work platforms and ladders.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Rig, hoist and move materials with the assistance of mobile cranes and other equipment within worksite.
- Working independently and with a team in a high paced construction environment.
- Must be able to travel and work at various job site locations across Canada for extended periods.
- Always maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to use a computer, email and iPhone applications an asse
- Minimum 3 years' steel erecting and /or metal cladding installation experience.
- Able to effectively communicate in both technical and user-friendly language when appropriate, with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Journeyperson certification preferred.
- Safety training in fall protection, aerial platform and WHMIS preferred.
- Ability to work shift work.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communications.
- Experience with pre-engineered and conventional steel structures an asset.
