Oxford Learning West Vancouver is looking for enthusiastic, reliable part-time teachers and tutors to join our team!

If you're academically strong, enjoy working with kids, and can explain concepts in a patient and encouraging way, we'd love to hear from you.

You do not need to be a certified teacher to apply. University students, recent graduates, experienced tutors, and educators are all encouraged to apply.

About the Role

Our teachers work with students in a small-group environment, typically supporting up to three students at a time. Each student follows an individualized Oxford Learning program based on their academic needs.

Depending on your strengths, you may work with students in:

  • Reading and reading comprehension
  • Writing and grammar
  • Elementary math
  • High school math
  • Study skills and organization

You do not need to teach every subject or grade level. We match teachers with students based on their strengths and experience.

All programming and teaching materials are provided, so there is no lesson planning required.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Genuinely enjoys working with children and teenagers
  • Is positive, patient, and encouraging
  • Communicates clearly and can explain concepts in different ways
  • Is academically strong in at least one subject area
  • Is dependable and punctual
  • Is comfortable receiving training and feedback
  • Is currently completing or has completed post-secondary education
  • Can commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory

Previous tutoring, teaching, coaching, mentoring, camp, childcare, or other experience working with youth is an asset, but formal classroom teaching experience is not required.

Schedule

We are currently looking for teachers who can consistently work at least 2 days per week.

Weekday shifts: approximately 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Saturday shifts: also available

We are particularly interested in candidates who can maintain consistent availability throughout the school year.
