ZyTech is looking for a Wall Builder for our location in Airdrie, AB. Reporting to department supervisor, the wall builder is responsible for the timely and accurate assembly of prefabricated walls as well as participating in routine wall shop maintenance and involvement in the ZyTech's Quality Control (Q.C.) and Health/Safety programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cut all material for wall packages
  • Inspect and/or measure precut lumber for proper length and possible damage or other irregularities associated with quality control and standard operating procedures
  • Upon completing a wall panel order, the wall builder will proceed to build subsequent orders or report to the Production Manager for further instructions
  • Thorough and complete organization of tools, materials and workstation and the cleaning and/or disposal of waste is required at all times
  • Regular inspection and maintenance as required for tools and machinery, and any problems or irregularities to be reported immediately to the Production Manager
  • All other duties as assigned by Production Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of carpentry/framing or related experience is required
  • Use and maintain various hand tools and pneumatic tools
  • Previous construction experience considered an asset
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day
  • Basic math skills and the ability to use an imperial tape measure is required
  • Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required, PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
