Why You Will Love This Organization
Our client is an established organization with a sophisticated and evolving HR function that is focused on delivering meaningful strategic value to the business. The HR team operates through a Centre of Excellence model, giving HR Business Partners the opportunity to move beyond transactional support and serve as true strategic advisors to leaders.
This role offers an especially diverse and visible portfolio, supporting approximately 500 employees within the Technology organization while also providing dedicated HR partnership to Legal, Risk & Compliance. You will have regular exposure to senior leaders and the C-suite and the opportunity to build trusted relationships across a range of business functions.
The organization is also investing in the future of its HR function, including additional tactical HR support that enables Business Partners to focus more heavily on leadership, organizational effectiveness, talent, and strategic initiatives.
The Impact You Will Have
As the HR Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across Technology and Legal, Risk & Compliance. You will bring a strategic HR perspective to business decisions, coach leaders and managers through complex people matters, and help shape initiatives that support organizational and employee success.
This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of your client groups while partnering closely with senior HR leadership on broader priorities. You will be expected to bring solutions and recommendations to the table, challenge leaders when appropriate, and establish credibility with a sophisticated and technically focused employee population.
The role currently encompasses both strategic and tactical responsibilities, with the HR team actively working to increase the strategic focus of the Business Partner function. As a result, you will have an opportunity to make a visible impact while helping shape how HR partners with the business.
What You Will Do
  • Serve as a strategic HR advisor and trusted partner to leaders across the Technology organization and Legal, Risk & Compliance.
  • Support an employee population of approximately 500 within Technology, while maintaining dedicated HR ownership of Legal, Risk & Compliance.
  • Coach managers and senior leaders on employee relations, performance, talent, organizational effectiveness, and other people-related matters.
  • Provide thoughtful challenge, guidance, and recommendations to business leaders.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with leaders and employees across a diverse range of functions.
  • Partner with leadership to identify people priorities and develop practical HR solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness and talent and leadership initiatives.
  • Support and influence broader HR projects and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Contribute to the refinement of job architecture within Technology.
  • Participate in the development of enterprise-wide leadership training.
  • Participate in the HR Engagement Committee.
  • Contribute to the HR AI Council and other emerging HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence and other members of the HR team to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Help continue the evolution of the HR Business Partner model toward a more strategic and consultative approach.
  • Balance immediate business needs with longer-term organizational and people priorities.
What You Will Bring
  • 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally including significant HR Business Partner experience.
  • Strong strategic business partner capabilities and demonstrated experience partnering with leaders.
  • Experience coaching managers and senior leaders through complex people and organizational issues.
  • Baseline familiarity with, or exposure to, the technology sector or technically sophisticated environments.
  • The credibility and confidence to partner effectively with technical professionals and senior leadership.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand business priorities and translate them into effective HR strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • The ability to challenge and influence leaders while maintaining strong relationships and trust.
  • A balance of professionalism, confidence, approachability, and personality.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate sophisticated stakeholder environments.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership of a client portfolio, and bring forward solutions and recommendations.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a broader HR team and Centre of Excellence model.
Work Environment
  • The organization's office is located in Etobicoke near Cloverdale Mall and Sherway Gardens.
  • This role follows a mandatory hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remotely.
  • The hybrid schedule is fixed, and there is no flexibility to modify the required office days.
  • Free parking is available on-site.
  • A commuter shuttle is available with connections to GO and subway stations.
  • Candidates should be comfortable with the location, which is less accessible by public transit than a downtown Toronto office.
  • The role offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership, while maintaining close partnership with senior HR leadership.
If you are a strategic HR professional who thrives on building trusted relationships, coaching leaders, and influencing meaningful business outcomes, we invite you to apply today!

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY RECRUITERS & HIRING MANAGERS
At The Talent Company, people are at the centre of our recruitment process. While we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for limited administrative purposes (such as writing creative outreach messages, summarizing interview notes or transcribing reference checks) AI is never the decision maker. Resumes and candidate information are personally reviewed by our recruiters, and all hiring decisions are made by people who bring judgment, care, and expertise to each match. If a client's recruitment process involves a greater degree of AI use during their own interviews or assessments, we will communicate that to short-listed candidates so they are aware in advance. Our commitment is to use technology responsibly, while ensuring fairness, transparency, and respect at every stage of the process.
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY CANDIDATES
We recognize that candidates may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support their job search, for example to refine writing style or gather research. While this can be appropriate, the information you provide in your resume, screening questions, and interviews must always be truthful and accurately reflect your own experience, knowledge, and competencies. AI should never be used to create or exaggerate credentials. Our goal is to understand the real you – your skills, your story, and your potential – so that we can make the best possible match between you and the organizations we serve.
ACCOMMODATION & INCLUSIVITY
At The Talent Company, we recognize the value of different perspectives and experiences in prompting innovation, sparking creativity, and solving problems. As an equal employment opportunity organization, we do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, Aboriginal peoples, members of visible minorities, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, persons with disabilities, and all other categories protected by law.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please let us know by emailing [email protected] if an adjustment or adaptation is required at any stage to support you during the recruitment journey.
