4th Year Apprentice Mechanic / Journeyperson

Dynamic is seeking a skilled, safety-focused 4th Year Apprentice Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Journeyperson to join our service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician who takes pride in quality repairs, works well in a fast-paced shop environment, and wants to build a long-term career with a growing equipment-focused company.

The successful candidate will help inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet and customer equipment while supporting reliable, safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, and related components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel-engine issues.
• Complete work orders, inspection reports, repair documentation, and parts requirements accurately and on time.
• Conduct pre- and post-repair testing to verify equipment is safe and operating properly.
• Work with the Service Manager, parts department, and operations team to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, tools, and shop equipment.
• Follow company policies, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable health and safety requirements.
• Assist with field-service calls, emergency repairs, and after-hours work when required.
• Support and mentor junior apprentices where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Registered 4th Year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprentice or certified Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
• Experience servicing heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, concrete pumping equipment, hydraulic systems, or similar industrial equipment is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose issues independently.
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air systems, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Valid driver's licence; a Class 1 or Class 3 licence is considered an asset.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and work with heavy parts and tools.
• Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and commitment to completing quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative shop and field-service team.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as operational needs require.
• CSA-approved safety footwear and a commitment to safe work practices.
