Vickar Automotive Group is looking to fill the position of Junior IT Support Technician to join our Corporate Office IT team.
We're looking for a tech-savvy, service-focused individual who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and keeping technology running smoothly. If you're organized, curious, and enjoy turning technical challenges into straightforward solutions, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your IT career while supporting a diverse, multi-location automotive group.
What You'll Do
As our Junior IT Support Technician, you'll provide day-to-day technical support to employees across Vickar Automotive Group. Working alongside our IT team, you'll help maintain the technology, systems, and infrastructure our dealerships and business operations rely on every day.
You'll work directly with employees both on-site and remotely, troubleshooting technical issues, setting up new users and equipment, administering business platforms, and helping ensure our technology remains reliable and secure.
You will play a vital role in:
Providing daily on-site and remote technical support to employees
Troubleshooting computers, printers, software, network connectivity, and other office technology
Supporting and maintaining server, storage, network, and IT infrastructure across multiple business locations
Setting up new employees, computers, user accounts, permissions, and related technology
Assisting with the administration and support of automotive OEM and business platforms
Responding to employee support requests in a timely and professional manner
Working independently and collaboratively with other members of the IT team
Assisting with Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, virtualization, backup, and cloud environments
Helping maintain data security, network access, and backup systems
Creating technical documentation and support bulletins to expand our internal knowledge base
Travelling between Vickar Automotive Group locations as required
Providing occasional after-hours technical support when needed
Why This Role Matters
Technology touches virtually every part of our business. From helping an employee get back online to ensuring systems across our dealerships remain operational, your work directly supports our teams and the customers they serve.
This is an opportunity to build hands-on experience across a broad range of technologies while working in a multi-location business environment. You won't be limited to one type of support—you'll have opportunities to learn about networks, servers, cloud services, security, business applications, hardware, and more.
Are You:
A natural problem solver who enjoys figuring out how things work?
Comfortable helping both technical and non-technical users?
Able to explain technical information in clear, easy-to-understand terms?
Organized and able to prioritize multiple support requests?
Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team?
Interested in continually learning new technologies and expanding your IT skills?
Comfortable travelling between business locations when required?
What You'll Bring
Experience supporting personal computers, printers, and standard office equipment
Familiarity with PC hardware, remote desktop applications, printer troubleshooting, and basic network troubleshooting
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
A valid Manitoba Class 5I or 5F driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle for travel between locations
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, server hardware, networking, virtualization, security, cloud services, Veeam, or Managed Services is considered an asset.
