Our client is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Service Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment at customer sites.

This is a hands-on field service position suited to someone with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, solid industrial maintenance experience, and the ability to work independently in customer-facing environments. The successful candidate will respond to service calls, complete inspections and repairs, and help ensure crane systems are operating safely and reliably.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair procedures
• Perform crane inspections, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs
• Service overhead cranes, hoists, chain falls, pullers, and related equipment
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts and components
• Respond to emergency service calls and customer equipment breakdowns
• Support the installation and commissioning of new crane systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot motors, contactors, controls, limit switches, and related electrical components
• Complete mechanical repairs and adjustments as required
• Order replacement parts and maintain service inventory
• Complete accurate maintenance reports, inspection records, and service documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition and required repairs
• Work independently at customer sites while coordinating with internal service and project teams
• Operate tools, equipment, machinery, and service vehicles safely and according to established procedures
• Follow all customer site orientations and site-specific safety requirements
• Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment, including fall-protection equipment
• Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment hazards immediately
• Follow all Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements and internal safety policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a college, CEGEP, vocational, or technical program is preferred
• Minimum three to five years of relevant hands-on industrial maintenance, crane service, electrical, or mechanical experience
• Previous experience servicing overhead cranes, hoists, or lifting equipment is considered a strong asset
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose equipment faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Experience working with industrial electrical controls, motors, contactors, and limit switches is preferred
• Ability to read technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and service documentation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working at heights and using fall-protection equipment
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Valid provincial driver's license in good standing
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to service calls when required
• 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician license is considered an asset
• 442A Industrial Electrician license is considered an asset
• 433A Industrial Millwright license is considered an asset
• Welding experience is considered an asset
