Position Summary: Our client is hiring Formwork Carpenters for Vancouver Infrastructure operations, specifically contributing to a new maintenance operations structure in Burnaby. We are open to both apprentice and journeyman applicants! In this role, you will work on heavy civil, industrial, infrastructure, and roadwork construction projects. You will be responsible for measuring, cutting, assembling, and stripping formwork, as well as placing ready-mix concrete in accordance with project specifications and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:

• Formwork & Construction: Execute heavy civil, industrial, infrastructure, and roadwork construction tasks including forming, stripping, and placing ready-mix concrete.
• Blueprint & Layout Execution: Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to specifications; prepare layouts of forms from provided blueprints and drawings.
• Team Collaboration: Assist fellow carpenters with framework assembly and maintain clear communication with team members and superiors.
• Safety Compliance: Commit to communicating, improving, and strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work areas, promoting a strong culture of workplace safety. Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Prior experience with formwork on commercial or industrial projects preferred.
• Bridge-building experience and skills in concrete finishing, sacking, and pouring are strong assets.
• Certifications: Journeyman to Red Seal certification is considered an asset (open to apprentices and unticketed skilled journeypersons as well). Safety tickets such as CSTS-09 are advantageous.
• Logistics & Schedule: Reliable transportation, willingness to travel to multiple worksite locations, and availability to work overtime and Saturday shifts when required.
• Personal Protective Equipment: Must adhere strictly to safety protocols and wear approved PPE, including respirators. (Note: Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests).

Tiered Pay Structure:

• Carpenters and Helpers (Infrastructure Support Technicians): $28.00 - $38.00 CAD hourly
• Apprentice and Skilled Journeypersons (Unticketed): $35.00 - $41.00 CAD hourly
• Journeyperson / Red Seal (Ticketed): $38.00 - $44.00 CAD hourly
