Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Vision Engineer to support engineering initiatives in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on Machine Vision, Industrial Automation, and Ergonomics. Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) or AI-enabled vision technologies is a plus.
The ideal candidate will combine technical engineering expertise with an understanding of ergonomic design, operator safety, and continuous improvement to help create efficient, safe, and operator-friendly manufacturing processes and workstations.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of Machine Vision and vision-related engineering solutions.
- Apply Industrial Automation and engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate opportunities to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and intelligent vision technologies into manufacturing applications.
- Perform Ergonomic Assessments of workstations, equipment, tools, and operator processes.
- Establish appropriate workstation and workbench heights to improve operator comfort and productivity.
- Identify and reduce repetitive reaching, bending, lifting, and other movements that may contribute to operator strain or injury.
- Support Workstation Design and equipment layouts using Human Factors Engineering principles.
- Design or recommend controls and operator interfaces that are comfortable, accessible, and easy to use.
- Evaluate and recommend material handling or lifting equipment for heavy components and parts.
- Organize tools, equipment, and work areas to reduce unnecessary motion and ergonomic risk.
- Identify opportunities for Process Improvement, Continuous Improvement, safety enhancement, and productivity improvement.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and safety teams to implement practical technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Vision Engineer, Machine Vision Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar technical engineering professional.
- Experience with Machine Vision, vision systems, or related manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of Ergonomics, Human Factors, or ergonomic workstation design.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify and reduce ergonomic risks associated with repetitive motion, reaching, bending, lifting, and workstation layout.
- Understanding of Industrial Automation, manufacturing processes, and engineering problem-solving.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Vision, or AI-enabled manufacturing technologies is a plus.
