Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector for work in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality inspections on welding and related construction activities, ensuring all work complies with project specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Stainless steel welding inspection experience is mandatory for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality inspections of welding, facility, mechanical, and construction activities.
  • Perform inspections of stainless steel welding and associated materials.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, welding procedures, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate and witness quality testing activities, including NDE, pressure testing, and material verification.
  • Ensure materials are properly documented, identified, traceable, and compliant prior to installation.
  • Maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including hold points, witness points, and client inspections.
  • Identify non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
  • Verify weld documentation, material traceability, weld maps, inspection records, and turnover documentation.
  • Prepare inspection reports, quality documentation, and project closeout packages.
  • Participate in client, regulatory, and third-party inspections and audits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CWB Welding Inspector Level 2 certification is required.
  • Previous stainless steel welding inspection experience is required.
  • Current CSTS, WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, First Aid, and other industry-required safety certifications.
  • Experience performing quality inspections within industrial, oil and gas, facility, or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of welding inspection, particularly stainless steel welding, NDE, pressure testing, construction quality processes, and material traceability.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, welding procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with CSA, ASME, API, and applicable client quality standards is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.
