Viking Reinforcing is looking for a reliable and hardworking Rebar Yard Worker to join our team. This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced rebar fabrication yard. The successful candidate will assist with the handling, fabrication, organization, and preparation of reinforcing steel for construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cutting, bending, sorting, bundling, and tagging reinforcing steel.
- Operate rebar fabrication equipment after receiving appropriate training.
- Load an unload rebar and materials.
- Prepare orders for delivery to job sites.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow company safety procedures, SWPs, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings and workplace inspections.
- Assist other yard and fabrication personnel as required.
Qualifications
- Previous rebar, steel, or construction experience is an asset but not required.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive lifting and handling of steel.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to safety and quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Forklift or telehandler experience an asset.
- WHMIS and other construction safety training are considered assets.
