This role designs and delivers engaging, learner-centred training that strengthens communication, digital literacy, workplace readiness, problem-solving, teamwork, and other essential skills. Through classroom facilitation, assessment, coaching, and individualized support, the Facilitator helps participants build confidence, overcome barriers, achieve employment goals, and successfully navigate Canadian workplaces and communities.

  • Develop lesson plans, activities, assessments, and learning materials based on participant needs and adult-learning principles.
  • Incorporate practical workplace and everyday-life scenarios that support employment and settlement success.
  • Assess learner strengths, needs, and barriers and develop individualized learning and action plans.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching, feedback, encouragement, and goal-setting support, adjusting instructional strategies based on learner progress.
  • Help participants develop resumes and cover letters, strengthen job-search and networking strategies, prepare for interviews, and understand Canadian workplace expectations.
  • Create an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment that encourages participation and learner success.
  • Coordinate practical learning opportunities, including workplace simulations, guest speakers, and employer connections.
  • Connect participants with appropriate internal and external services and supports.
  • Build relationships with employers, community organizations, educational institutions, and partner agencies, and participate in outreach, information sessions, and participant recruitment.
  • Collaborate with Employment Counsellors, Settlement Practitioners, Job Developers, language and training staff, and other program teams to support participant success.
  • Maintain accurate participant records, complete organizational and funder reporting, and contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure program delivery complies with organizational policies, procedures, and funder requirements.

What It Takes

  • Strong learner-centred facilitation, presentation, coaching, and classroom-management skills.
  • Ability to design engaging learning activities and adapt instruction based on participant needs and progress.
  • Strong intercultural communication skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Knowledge of employment readiness, workforce development, and essential-skills frameworks.
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Commitment to inclusion, continuous learning, and participant success.

What You Bring

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, virtual-learning platforms, online collaboration tools, and electronic record-management systems.
  • Experience maintaining confidential participant records and program documentation.
  • Successful Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program needs.

Preferred / Asset Qualifications

  • Experience supporting newcomers, immigrants, refugees, or English-language learners.
  • Experience facilitating CLB-informed or language-sensitive programming.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labour-market information, community resources, and settlement systems.
