Benefits:
If you're the kind of tech who takes pride in solid, honest work and likes seeing the machines you worked on out on the water or on the trails, this gig is for you. We're looking for a hands-on Marine & Powersports Service Technician to join a busy shop in Gibbons, Alberta.
What You'll Be Doing
- Rigging aluminum boats from bare hull to water-ready: outboards, controls, hydraulic steering, gauges and accessories.
- Installing and repairing marine AC/DC electrical systems and doing clean, organized wiring.
- Setting up and servicing boats, outboards, ATVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles from big-name brands.
- Using diagnostic tools to track down the real problem and fix it right the first time.
- Following work orders, updating electronic repair tickets, and adding notes and photos.
- Keeping your bay tidy, your tools organized, and working safely at all times.
If you like variety, you'll get it here—one day you're rigging a new aluminum boat, the next you're sorting out a tricky electrical issue on a sled.
What's In It For You
- Solid pay structure: base hourly plus flat rate, typically in the $24–$40+ range depending on experience and efficiency.
- Full-time work with steady hours.
- Choose a schedule that suits your life:
- 4 days a week at 10-hour shifts, or
- 5 days a week at 8-hour shifts (depending on role and workload).
- Overtime during the busy season, with the option to bank hours for extra paid time off in the slower months.
- Group benefits after 3 months: health, dental, life, and disability.
- Health Spending Account after 6 months.
- Employer-matching pension plan after 1 year.
You'll be treated like a professional, not a number—and you'll work with people who actually understand what you do.
What You Bring
- Around 5 years' experience as a boat rigger and/or service technician, OR strong experience as an automotive, heavy-duty, or agricultural technician looking to move into marine/powersports.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and follow work orders without constant supervision.
- Comfortable using computers for diagnostics and electronic work orders.
- Physically able to handle the job: lifting, bending, climbing in and out of boats, working on your feet.
- Safety-minded, organized, and proud of the quality of your work.
