Critical Care and ICU RN Responsibilities

Critical Care and ICU RN Responsibilities
- Assessing and monitoring critically ill patients
- Managing complex and rapidly changing medical conditions
- Administering medications, blood products, and IV therapies
- Caring for mechanically ventilated patients
- Managing arterial lines, central lines, and critical care equipment
- Administering and monitoring vasoactive medications
- Providing ventilator and airway-management support
- Performing hemodynamic monitoring
- Responding to emergencies and changes in patient condition
- Developing and updating individualized nursing care plans
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Educating patients and families
- Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Following infection-prevention and patient-safety procedures
- Canadian citizenship; required for TN visa eligibility
- Active Canadian RN registration in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- NCLEX-RN successfully completed
- VisaScreen or Visa4Nurses Certificate completed or in progress
- Eligibility to obtain a nursing licence in the applicable U.S. state
- At least one year of recent North American hospital-based Critical Care or ICU RN experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience caring for mechanically ventilated and high-acuity patients
- Strong English communication and clinical documentation skills
- Willingness to relocate to the United States
