Formwork Carpenters (Apprentice to Journeyman)
Location: Coquitlam Position Type: Full-TimePay Rate: $28.00 - $44.00 CAD Hourly (Depending on experience and certification tier) Schedule: Shifts vary by project (typically daytime, though start times may range from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM).

We are currently partnering with a prominent leader in construction solutions to secure skilled Formwork Carpenters for heavy civil infrastructure operations in British Columbia.
Our client is hiring Formwork Carpenters and is open to both apprentice and journeyman applicants!
Key Responsibilities
  • Formwork & Construction: Execute heavy civil, industrial, infrastructure, and roadwork construction tasks including forming, stripping, and placing ready-mix concrete.
  • Blueprint & Layout Execution: Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to specifications; prepare layouts of forms from provided blueprints and drawings.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist fellow carpenters with framework assembly and maintain clear communication with team members and superiors.
  • Safety Compliance: Commit to communicating, improving, and strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work areas, promoting a strong culture of workplace safety.

Compensation
  • Tiered Pay Structure
    • Carpenters and Helpers (Infrastructure Support Technicians): $28/hr to $38/hr
    • Apprentice and Skilled Journeypersons (Unticketed): $35/hr to $41/hr
    • Journeyperson / Red Seal (Ticketed): $38/hr to $44/hr

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience with formwork on commercial or industrial projects preferred. Bridge-building experience and skills in concrete finishing, sacking, and pouring are strong assets.
  • Certifications: Journeyman to Red Seal certification is considered an asset (open to apprentices and unticketed skilled journeypersons as well). Safety tickets such as CSTS-09 are advantageous.
  • Logistics & Schedule: Reliable transportation, willingness to travel to multiple worksite locations, and availability to work overtime and Saturday shifts when required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Must adhere strictly to safety protocols and wear approved PPE, including respirators. (Note: Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests).
