Summary

Core Molding Technologies is seeking an IT Systems Support Specialist to provide hands-on technology support across our manufacturing environment. This role is primarily focused on onsite support for end users, workstations, mobile devices, printers, plant-floor technology, and other local technology needs.

Approximately 70% of the role will focus on day-to-day IT support, troubleshooting, ticket resolution, hardware and software support, device setup, and user assistance. The remaining 30% will support networking and server administration activities, including connectivity troubleshooting, network hardware, user account administration, server monitoring, backups, and infrastructure support.

The IT Systems Support Specialist will also train users, maintain technical documentation, and support IT projects and initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day onsite IT support for end users, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
  • Support plant-floor technology, including workstations, barcode scanners, mobile devices, label printers, and manufacturing-related equipment
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Install, configure, replace, and upgrade computer hardware and peripherals
  • Support Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and other business applications
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and device provisioning
  • Coordinate with Operations, application owners, internal IT teams, and vendors to resolve technology issues
  • Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT ticketing system
  • Provide support for conference rooms, audio/video equipment, and other workplace technology
  • Assist with hardware refreshes, equipment moves, technology implementations, and other IT projects
  • Assist with LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and other connectivity troubleshooting
  • Support switches, firewalls, wireless access points, network cabling, and related infrastructure
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, equipment inventories, and other technical records
  • Monitor network alerts and escalate infrastructure issues as appropriate
  • Assist with the configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual servers
  • Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities
  • Support IT control requirements, including ISO 27001, SOX, and other applicable standards
  • Coordinate with vendors on hardware and software purchases, services, and technical support
  • Create and maintain technical guides, user reference materials, and IT support documentation
  • Train end users on hardware, applications, and technology best practices
  • Follow established IT policies and procedures, including incident response, change management, and configuration management
  • Provide support to other company locations as needed
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related technical support role
  • College diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with user account administration, permissions, and device provisioning
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, switches, and firewalls
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and take ownership of issues through resolution
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Ability to adapt to changing technology and learn new hardware and software
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment, including regular presence on the production floor
Preferred
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or plant-floor technology
  • Experience with server administration, virtualization, backups, or disaster recovery
  • Experience supporting IT controls or compliance requirements such as ISO 27001 or SOX
  • Experience with network infrastructure and troubleshooting

Job Details
  • Position Type: Full-time (onsite)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
  • Work Environment: Professional office and manufacturing environment with significant time spent on the production floor
  • Travel: Periodic travel to support company facilities in the U.S. and Mexico
  • Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift or move equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds
  • Schedule Flexibility: Occasional extended hours or weekend support may be required
