Job Details:
This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys working collaboratively with internal stakeholders while ensuring contracts and legal records are accurate, compliant, and properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, edit, and administer a variety of commercial agreements, including:
- Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Purchase Orders and Service Agreements
- Vendor and Supplier Contracts
- Confidentiality Agreements
- Subcontractor Agreements
- Coordinate contract execution processes and maintain contract databases.
- Track contract terms, renewals, amendments, expirations, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with legal document management and corporate record maintenance.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research related to commercial and corporate matters.
- Liaise with internal departments including Operations, Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, and Project Management.
- Support external legal counsel as required.
- Ensure documentation complies with company policies and applicable legislation.
- Assist with risk management initiatives and contract-related reporting.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or contract administration role.
- Experience reviewing and managing commercial contracts.
- Strong understanding of contract terminology and legal documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the oil and gas, energy, engineering, construction, or industrial services sectors.
- Supply Chain Management experience would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with corporate records management.
- Experience with contract management software and document control systems.
- Knowledge of Alberta commercial and corporate regulations.
