Job Summary:
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production machinery. This role ensures the optimal performance and longevity of our equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established procedures.
- Inspect, lubricate, and clean machines to ensure proper operation.
- Identify and address potential maintenance issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and assemblies.
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify root causes of problems.
- Equipment Optimization:
- Recommend and implement improvements to machinery and equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Perform Lock out tag out procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools.
- Order and track parts as needed.
- Keep the maintenance area clean and organized.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to address maintenance issues.
- Provide technical support to machine operators.
- Participate in training and development activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
