Job Summary:

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of production machinery. This role ensures the optimal performance and longevity of our equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance:
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established procedures.
    • Inspect, lubricate, and clean machines to ensure proper operation.
    • Identify and address potential maintenance issues before they lead to breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions.
    • Repair or replace defective parts, components, and assemblies.
    • Perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
    • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify root causes of problems.
  • Equipment Optimization:
    • Recommend and implement improvements to machinery and equipment to enhance performance and efficiency.
    • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
    • Perform Lock out tag out procedures.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools.
    • Order and track parts as needed.
    • Keep the maintenance area clean and organized.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with production and engineering teams to address maintenance issues.
    • Provide technical support to machine operators.
    • Participate in training and development activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
