Position Overview
We are working with an established insurance organization seeking an experienced Life Insurance Administrator to support its advisors and clients. This role is responsible for coordinating new business, managing policy-service requests and ensuring applications move efficiently from submission through underwriting, issue and delivery.
The successful candidate will have at least three years of life insurance administration experience, strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of carrier requirements and industry processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and submit life insurance applications to carriers.
- Confirm applications and supporting documents are complete, accurate and properly signed.
- Monitor applications throughout the underwriting process and provide regular status updates.
- Coordinate medical requirements, financial documentation and other outstanding underwriting information.
- Follow up with advisors, clients, carriers and paramedical providers to resolve outstanding requirements.
- Review policy contracts for accuracy and coordinate policy delivery and settlement.
- Process policy changes, beneficiary updates, ownership changes, banking updates, reinstatements and other in-force service requests.
- Obtain illustrations, policy values, forms and carrier information as required.
- Maintain accurate client records, correspondence, notes and follow-up activities.
- Respond professionally to advisor and client inquiries and take ownership of requests through resolution.
- Protect confidential client information and follow all regulatory, privacy and internal compliance requirements.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the life insurance team.
- Minimum three years of life insurance administration experience.
- Working knowledge of individual life insurance products and new-business processes.
- Experience communicating with Canadian life insurance carriers and underwriting departments.
- Strong understanding of applications, underwriting requirements, policy issue and in-force servicing.
- Excellent organization, accuracy and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with insurance CRM or policy-management systems and carrier portals.
- Familiarity with WealthServ, APEXA or similar industry platforms is an asset.
- LLQP licensing is considered an asset but is not required for a primarily administrative position.
